The particular Toppy has never had RemoteSwitch on it. That surprised me. The 0x02000000 was from within the TAP. The other codes were obtained as part of a project with FireBird to fully understand the differences between the RCU mapping on various Toppys. When I get a chance I will replicate it using the inbuilt function. One thing I am not sure about is that I left the native RCU active, and had that setting on, but the Ch+/- and Vol +/- did not work when I tried secondary RCU in either Mode 5 or Mode 6 (I do not recall testing it with mode 4).

As an aside, the TRF-7260 supports both Mode 1 RCU and Mode 6 RCU simultaneously, which is unexpected as they use very different key codes. There must be some sort of filter in the firmware.

I have gone back and tested the critical keys using the inbuilt function. There does not seem to be a way of saving the results. I had to resort to getting screen captures using the TMSRemote module of WebControl. Unfortunately I am not as well organised as I should be so sometimes I did things in a different order making it more difficult to check that I have been consistent.

I will send PM Email with more information.

The next thing I am going to test is using the same RCU to control multiple Toppys. I have 2 x 2400 and 2 x 7100 in one room and I have 2 x 7260 and 5300 in another room. Could go from 7 RCUs to 3. Not bad if I can get it to work.

Hi Ian,

got your PMs, thank you. If the 0x02000000 really occurs in the built-in keycode display, sth. is wrong /w filter switching and I can't help at the moment. Are you absolutely sure, that the correct TF=/RC= values were set and saved, no other influences (other TAPs modifying keycodes running etc.) have affected the result? TMSRemote / WebControl possibly change keycodes and are not the right means to record what's going through an RCU. Therefore, I provide the built-in keycodes display, the only way to see what's really going to the TAPs and the system directly from an RCU. You have to write down the respective codes on paper, inconvenient, but necessary, and the codes and corresponding keys list must be 100% reliable ;-)

I am busy over the weekend, but back in a few days,
Acade

Hi Acade

I will disable all other TAPs and do a complete verification of the codes. I doubt that any of the TAPs would have an impact, but you can never be certain of these things.

I will report my finding.
